It's my turn to speak!

06/07/2011

After having heard alert signs over and over again, out of tameness, I decided that the time to launch my blog was ripe to express myself on a regular basis on my favourite subject : Corporate Universities; it is indeed a subject so dear to me that I have been putting all my energy into it since the late nineties. The phenomenon only grows each year and around the world. I need to tell it like it is: what is being said about corporate universities and what is being done about them, sometimes accurate and compelling things, but often annoying fallacies that are completely off the mark, partial and sectional views offered like fodder to feed on, by people whose job is not to observe the world expansion of Corporate Universities. Just as annoying as vendors who take advantage of the Corporate University phenomenon, using the term to embellish their training and counseling outfits and their MBA programmes, which is of course usurping.

Finally I feel the need to deliver my vision of the future of corporate universities. This phenomenon, born empirically, needs to be enlightened and structured a little, more focused towards an ideal. Like the iceberg, many see only the tip, its operational components, albeit very interesting and compelling ones. But corporate universities are also considerable political and strategic levers that we must learn to decipher and to put to the service of the issues of organizations as well as the women and men who fight for their existence. You have my word, I'll be back!

Discover the role to be played by universities in corporate social responsibility!
CorporateUniversities, a lever of CorporateResponsibility - GlobalCCU Publishing - March 2008

Responsibility is not something that is bought in a supermarket. It needs to be learned before becoming reality. Corporate universities are privileged areas of education to the principles of corporate social responsibility and support the implementation of projects efficient and virtuous in this area, which cannot be reduced to effects of image.

Le GlobalCCU FORUM 2008 au CAMPUS VEOLIA ET À LA SORBONNE - Paris

GlobalCCU Forum 2008 was held on 2, 3 and 4 April 2008 at Campus Veolia and the Sorbonne in Paris.
Annick Renaud Coulon, founder and president of the Global Council of Corporate Universities organized the first World Forum of corporate universities. Participants from 24 countries on five continents met for three days at the Campus Veolia Environnement de Jouy-le-Moutier, near Paris, and the Sorbonne to work around the theme: Make your corporate university leverage your responsibility. The seminar was sponsored by the United Nations Global Compact with the effective participation of Mr. Georg Kell, Executive Director of the Global Compact Office in New York. After the first world meeting, participants - all of the directors of corporate universities gathered from outside of market pressure - wanted to continue working together.

GLOBALCCU: THE GLOBAL NETWORK OF DIRECTORS OF CORPORATE UNIVERSITIES

The ambitious company I founded in 2005, in order to create a world community of Directors of Corporate Universities and Chief Learning Officers, resulted in applications coming from just about everywhere in the world to participate in the working groups of the European Club of Corporate Universities.
The format of this organisation which functions well with its five annual meetings, made impossible the membership of companies situated on the other side of the planet. Rapidly, these professionals felt the need to connect with their peers around the world and expand friendly exchanges between them over the long term. It became therefore necessary to invent another form of work that reflects the needs and constraints. It is the purpose of the Council of CorporateUniversities founded with the support of several Directors and CLOs of corporate universities. Created in 2005, the Global Council of CorporateUniversities (GlobalCCU) is a truly global community of professionals from corporate universities. The GlobalCCU Forum 2008 was the founding moment of this network. It set a precedent in CU history! With members of the Advisory Board from all continents, we are working on the future of this Council, with energy and passion! In 2010, GlobalCCU launched its collaborative work platform at a distance: CUCP, the Corporate University Community Platform.
